What people mean by swingers club, lifestyle club and couples club

Three words, three different speakers

«Swingers club» is what people search for. It is blunt, it is old, and it is the phrase most British visitors type into a phone at eleven at night in a hotel room in Playa del Inglés. «Lifestyle club» is what the people who actually go tend to say, because «the lifestyle» is the scene's own shorthand and it sounds less like a 1970s documentary. «Couples club» describes who is in the room rather than what happens in it.

None of the three is wrong. They are aimed at different readers, which is why one venue can use all three without contradicting itself. What matters is not the label on the website but what you find when the door opens.

What «lifestyle» adds that «swinging» does not

Swinging, strictly speaking, means couples swapping with other couples, by agreement, on terms the two of you set before you leave the hotel. It is a specific word, and plenty of people who enjoy these venues never do it.

«Lifestyle» is wider. It covers watching, being watched, going somewhere you can kiss your partner without anyone tutting, and very often an evening where nothing happens at all, which nobody in the room finds odd. If you want a word that commits you to nothing, that is the one.

«Couples club» is the reassuring one. It tells you the place is built around couples, that you will not be the only pair there, and that the night is organised with you in mind. On a first visit that is usually the information people actually wanted.

What all three have in common

Consent, and not the poster-on-the-wall kind. A no is respected the first time it is said. No second attempt, no sulking, no «just one dance». Everything else in a place like this rests on that single rule holding.

Discretion, in both directions: nobody repeats what happened, and nobody repeats who was there. Then clear rules, which is less romantic but just as important: who comes in, how people dress, which area is for what. Ours are written down and take two minutes to read before you come.

Not a nightclub, and definitely not a hostess bar

Set against an ordinary club on the strip, the visible difference is the layout: there are areas meant for privacy, not just a dance floor and a bar. The invisible difference matters more. Persistence is not tolerated. In a normal nightclub, being followed around for an hour is something people put up with; here it is the fastest way to be walked to the door.

The other distinction is worth stating plainly, because getting it wrong sends people somewhere they never meant to go. A swingers or lifestyle club is not a hostess bar, a brothel or an escort venue. Nobody in the room is paid to keep you company. Everyone is there on their own account, and nobody owes anybody anything, yourself included.

So which one is Infinity?

A private adult and couples club, over-18s only, in C.C. La Sandía on Avenida de Alemania in Playa del Inglés. All three labels fit, depending on who you ask, but it runs as a couples club with a lifestyle crowd: dance floor, bar, chill-out area, a private area and a VIP lounge.

Six nights, each with its own character. Monday is Dessous Night, the lingerie night, lingerie only. Wednesday is Couples Night, elegant and couple-focused. Thursday is the FKK Night Party, the nudist night, open to couples and singles. Friday's Hot & Thirsty Friday and Saturday's Indulge in the Night are the disco nights with a DJ, Saturday being the dressier of the two. Sunday's All For One Night is the most explicit evening of the week, with limited capacity and booking recommended.

Doors from 21:00 every day except Tuesday: until 03:00 on Wednesday and Thursday, until 04:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Closed Tuesdays.
