Everything is a short taxi ride away

Gran Canaria has a capital with a nightlife of its own, but the nights most visitors are after happen in the south, along the Playa del Inglés to Maspalomas strip. It is flat, compact and built for people without a car: bars, clubs and restaurants sit within a couple of kilometres of nearly every hotel and apartment block in the resort.

The layout catches first-timers out. Nightlife here does not spill onto the street, it lives inside open-air shopping centres: two or three storeys of units facing outdoor walkways. Infinity is in one of them, C.C. La Sandía on Avenida de Alemania. In practice that means you arrive under cover, not through a door visible from the pavement.

Winter is the busy season, not summer

If you are booking winter sun, you are booking the island's high season. From November to March the south is fuller and far more international than it is in August, and people come for two or three weeks rather than a long weekend.

That changes how the night works. Venues run to a steady calendar all year instead of a summer rush, so Infinity opens every day except Tuesday in January on exactly the same hours as in July. It also means the room around you on a Thursday mixes Canarian residents with visitors from half of northern Europe.

Three scenes, and they are not interchangeable

Adult nightlife is not one single thing, and mixing up the categories is how people end up in the wrong room.

All three sit close together, sometimes in the same building, but they do not overlap. Walking into the wrong one is the fastest way to have a bad night and spoil somebody else's.

  • Clubs and cocktail bars. Music, a drink, dancing. Nothing is expected of you.
  • The LGBTQ+ scene, whose best known landmark in the south is the Yumbo Centrum: its own crowd, its own calendar, its own identity.
  • Lifestyle venues, or swingers clubs in plain English. Private, adults only, with stated rules and a door. Infinity is one of these.

Timings, dress and the unwritten stuff

Dinner is late and the night is later. Before eleven almost everywhere looks half empty, which tells you nothing. Clubs open earlier than you would guess, Infinity from nine, but the room fills much later and closing is 3am on Wednesday and Thursday, 4am Friday to Sunday.

On dress, the rule is simple: the more defined the night, the more it matters. Nobody looks twice in a beach bar; on a smart club night they do. Taxis inside the resort are short hops, but agree with whoever you came with how the night ends before it begins.

Where Infinity fits, and when it doesn't

Infinity is a private adults-only club in Playa del Inglés, over 18s only, running six nights that have little in common with each other: Monday is Dessous Night, lingerie only; Wednesday is Couples Night, for couples; Thursday is the FKK Night Party, the nudist night, open to couples and singles; Friday is Hot & Thirsty Friday with a DJ; Saturday is Indulge in the Night, the big one, also with a DJ and a sharper dress code; and Sunday is All For One Night, the most explicit evening of the week, with limited numbers and booking recommended.

Now the honest part. If you want to dance, have a few drinks and walk back to your hotel, this is not your venue and the south has plenty of better options. Infinity makes sense if you are coming, alone or as a couple, curious about the lifestyle scene, if discretion matters to you and if a club that treats consent as non-negotiable sounds like a relief rather than red tape. A no is respected the first time it is said.

Before you go

Pick the night before you pick anything else: each day has its own crowd and its own tone, and the same room can be five different places. Sort out how you are getting back before you go out.

Anything not written down here, specific entry conditions or a question about your own situation, ask directly on WhatsApp at +34 646 44 71 34 or at the door before you go in. An awkward message beats a surprise at eleven at night, and it is what most people do the first time.
